About the Photo Map...
This is a work in progress. I don't plan to ever finish it - it will grow for a while until I've filled in some of the gaps, then continue to evolve.

My intention is to show photos of the New Zealand landscape that convey a sense of place. I hope these images are timeless - where possible I've tried to avoid photos which give too many clues about when they were taken. But in fact they span three decades.

Technical stuff...
I'm a Flash and Shockwave developer, so it made sense to use the Yahoo! Maps Flash API to develop this. What got me excited about the Yahoo! maps was that not only can it be incorporated within a Flash document (or a Shockwave one), but the markers can themselves be other Flash files and this opens up interesting possibilities for adding useful interactivity.
