A set of three interactive
learning activities, or learning objects, developed for the New Zealand Ministry of Education to support aspects
of the Social Studies curriculum at levels 7 to 10. They focus on the concept of identity, providing opportunities for students to explore this concept and express their understanding of their own identity.
Identity Create: Market Icons
For levels 7 to 8, this activity starts with an outdoor market environment. Students select visual elements or icons from this environment, then use these to create a design reflecting some aspect of identity as they understand it to be.
Identity Create: Street Icons - for levels 9-10
For levels 9 to 10, structured the same as Market Icons, but this time a New Zealand street scene is the scenario from which students gather examples.

Students explore a timeline from the 1840s through to today.
They can research key events on the timeline and personalise it by adding others relating to their
