COOL MOVES is an online game to encourage kids to get dancing. It was part of a website aimed at encouraging NZ kids to get active and make healthy food choices. The site was an inter-agency campaign co-ordinated by SPARC in partnership with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and with support from the Ministry of Youth Development.

SaltedHerring were commissioned by Click Suite to develop a stand alone hip-hop dance game module to fit within the world they developed. The PixelPump was commissioned by SaltedHerring to provide Flash development and ActionScript programming.

This game is aimed at older children (8-12 years). Kids can learn moves from the pros or create new routines with their friends. The idea is that once they have played the game they can also earn points (and win stuff) by doing an offline dance and uploading media to tell about it.
